Hemantika | Arts Depot London 2021
Last November I had a unique opportunity to photograph Hemantika Dance Festival which was back for its sixth year. Created by The Sujata Banerjee Dancy Company (SBDC) festival showcased unique partnerships across the rich variety of Indian classical and other distinct dances including Bharatanatyam, Odissi and of course, Kathak! Festival took place in Arts Depot in London. Apart from capturing amazing performances I had a chance to sneak backstage to do what I love the most, document BTS. It’s probably my favourite part of any event that I photograph. Documenting in uninterrupted way, pretending to be invisible (as much as I can). I love getting lost in a maze of theatre corridors. I always look for different angles, sometimes I run backstage to find another way to get to the other side of the stage. . Here are some photos from the event.
