East Fest | Luton 2022

East Fest was the first outdoor, multi-art form celebration of Eastern European arts and culture in Luton town centre. I’m so proud I had a chance to take part in this event as their official photographer.

The event showcased Polish, Jewish, Lithuanian, Ukrainian, Belarus and Lemko elements as well as new additions of Bulgarian, Hungarian, and Romanian cultures. East Fest brought together a programme of high-profile international artists; quality UK based artists who offered a window into the diversity of Eastern European culture and local artists and community groups who embody the vibrancy of the Eastern European communities in Luton. The aim of the festival is to bring all the Luton communities closer together and create more opportunities to celebrate cohesion in the town.

It was great to see all of those communities coming together to enjoy some good music and food. I tried Hungarian strudel for the first time and I can’t stop thinking about it ever since ;) We need more events like this. And we definitely need more European street food because it’s the best (I know I’m biased and I’m sorry but it’s true)
